About Solitaire

Solitaire brings the three most popular patience card games together: Klondike, the classic seven-column game that shipped with Windows; Spider, the two-deck game of building king-to-ace runs; and FreeCell, the game of pure skill where every card is dealt face up. All three play instantly in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer, with no download and no account.

Klondike offers Draw 1 for a relaxed game or Draw 3 for the traditional challenge, with standard Windows scoring and a time bonus for fast wins. Spider can be played with 1, 2 or 4 suits, from a gentle game you will usually win to the expert version that rewards careful planning. FreeCell uses the same numbered deals as the classic Microsoft version, four free cells and proper supermoves, so long runs move in one go when you have the space.

Every game is built for comfortable play on any screen. Drag a card or a run of cards with your mouse or finger, or simply tap a card and it moves to the best legal spot: a foundation first, then a column it fits on. Cards that can safely go to the foundations move up by themselves, and when the rest of the game is a formality it finishes automatically, with a bouncing-card celebration when you win.

Undo is free and unlimited, so you can always step back and try another line. Each game comes with three free hints that point out a useful move, and you can watch an optional short ad for three more. Your game in progress saves automatically, so you can close the tab and come back later, and your statistics (games played, games won, win rate, best time, best score and longest winning streak) are kept separately for each variant and difficulty. Choose from four card backs in Settings.

Tips and strategy

  • In Klondike, turn over face-down cards before anything else, and only empty a column when a king can fill it.
  • In Spider, empty a column as early as possible and put cards on the same suit whenever you have the choice.
  • In FreeCell, keep free cells empty: every free cell and empty column increases how many cards you can move at once.
  • Undo is free, so try a line, and step back if it goes nowhere.
  • Start Spider with 1 suit and move up to 2 and 4 suits once you win comfortably.
